I've been thinking a lot about interior spaces lately...most notably, fabric. To me, fabric can be down right intoxicating. It affects my heart rate and stimulates my sweat glands. The minute I see something I love, I get a little dizzy...and then I try to imagine just where I could squeeze a couple yards of it into my life.
Above, and below, show two directions I'm considering taking our soon-to-be guest room in. (Six months ago it was my office). I am mesmerized by the multi-color star pattern and envision it as curtains. The other patterns would either be applied to a mid-century Danish chair I have, that needs reupholstering, or throw pillows for the bed.
Then there is the indoor/outdoor collection from my favorite designer, Trina Turk. I finally found a place where I could check-out her book of fabrics and was totally blown away by the scale of her designs. Online, they appeared (to me) to be so much smaller, but in person, they are of a much larger scale. To give you some sense, I'm showing some of my favorite designs, next to, what else - some freshly collected eggs.
A valance for our bathroom...?
...or maybe some throw pillows for the couch.
Trina has had a special place in my heart, and closet, for a very long time - it's time to get her out into my living areas!
Jeanice, take a look at "thedesignersattic.blogspot.com". By Shannon Darby of Pink wallpaper design. Lots of Trina Turk.
