Here are some new blinds I finally got around to installing. I've been so in love with this koi pattern ever since I first saw it several years ago. I struggled with where to use it and what to do with it. When I finally came to the conclusion that the corner spot by the front door needed a color splash, I got right on it.
When it comes to design I say: "Go bold or go back to bed."
Our front door is "Harvest" orange. I love standing inside, looking out the front window, and seeing all the green outside come in by way of our carpet tiles - it's a fun effect. As different as the new fabric is, I think it goes great with both.
I ordered the blinds double-sided (didn't add much cost since the fabric is the cheapest part, the labor is where things add up) so that your eyes get an unexpected treat while outside the house as well. The sales woman who wrote up my order tried to talk me out of it - "People don't really do that..." but I stuck to my original idea and I'm glad I did. Minus the mean glare on this window, it's a fun *pop* outside as well.
